What should I know about the groin?
The groin is one of the most complex parts of the human body. Without our being aware of its function, it conterbalances strong forces which occur not only during work or sports, but also when we cough, for example.
Moreover, blood vessels, soft lymphatic drainage ducts, nerve pathways, and in males the spermatic cord, all pass through the groin. These sensitive structures must not be damaged under stretching or contraction, even under severe physical strain.
They are therefore protected by strong muscles and ligaments that ensure optimum stability, even under extreme pressure, while providing the required elasticity.
This subtle interplay between solidity and elasticity is the groin's main feature—and the reason why this region is a natural weak point in the human body.
