Dear Dr. Löhde,
I consulted a physician when I felt little pain in the abdomen during fitness training, and after a bulge appeared in my groin. The doctor confirmed my fear (“inguinal hernia on the right side”) and recommended an operation as soon as possible. Being self-employed, I needed a rapid treatment, and minimally invasive surgery was the only solution. I already had an appointment with a surgeon when I discovered your wonderful website and the positive feedback from your patients. I became curious and immediately called the clinic to get an appointment.
Never before have I encountered a very busy physician who takes a full hour to carefully examine the patient and explain the details of a routine operation. This convinced me that I had knocked on the right door.
I can confirm the reports of other patients: Meoclinic and its expert staff are definitely something exceptional. I returned to work the day after the operation and had regained my full capacity within two days. Moreover, the bill was not excessive considering the job that was done and the final results. My enthusiasm has prompted me to make an appointment for a check-up at Meoclinic, although I feel perfectly healthy.
In conclusion, a few words about overweight: like many other disorders I have suffered from, the hernia was most likely a consequence of my weight. I am now 49 and have finally solved the problem in the past 3 years (176 cm, 154 lbs.), losing 55 lbs. and changing my way of living. Good nutrition and physical exercise are the keys to our health. “Help yourself and don't wait until you need others to help you!”

Hello Dr. Löhde!
A first report! 9 days after the hernia operation. I recovered very rapidly at home and feel no major pain. My family doctor removed the suture yesterday and praised the quality of your work! I have returned to my sports and enjoy my one-hour jog very much. My stomach has flattened again and the blue spots in the “sensitive” zone are gradually disappearing. As you can see, everything is OK—I expected no less! I am scheduled to fly again in 6 days, and will do so.

Dr. Löhde operated on my inguinal hernia in such an elegant and careful way that I was able to visit the Berlin zoo the day after the operation. The stay at the clinic has left me very enthusiastic.

Actually I was just looking for an effective, modern device to continue living with my old hernia when I visited Dr. Löhde's website, since I was afraid of an operation and the resulting limitations. The information I found and the extensive telephone conversations we had prompted me to make an appointment for the sandwich procedure.
A pre-operative consultation with complete, understandable explanations allayed my fears. I was operated on the next day, and was able to stand up without major pain within a short time. I only had a feeling of tension for a few days. One day after the operation I was able to go sightseeing in Berlin, and then drive 200 miles in my car to go back home. Once I arrived, I returned to my usual activities immediately!
Conclusion: Everyone involved showed great expertise. I particularly appreciated the friendliness of Dr. Löhde and his team, which made my stay at the clinic a special experience. I warmly recommend this address, even if contributors to the national health insurance scheme have to pay their own costs.
I wish Meoclinic, Dr. Löhde and all the staff many more satisfied patients.

When I noticed that I was suffering hernia scrotalis, I searched the Internet for information on the various surgical procedures. I consulted two doctors and had telephone calls with seven others before choosing the “sandwich procedure”. I sent an e-mail to Dr. Löhde, who gave me expert and understandable answers to my questions.
I subsequently had an extensive telephone call with him, and decided to entrust the operation to him. I arrived at Meoclinic on 7 October, 2002. Dr. Löhde discovered that I had hernias not only in the right, but also in the left groin.
The operation took place October 8. Both the anaesthesia and the operation were performed to my complete satisfaction. I was able to go to the toilet unaided and with no pain a couple of hours after the operation. The ultrasound scan performed on October 9 showed the nets that had been inserted left and right.
I left Meoclinic on October 10. Walking and travelling by underground and train caused me no pain. I just felt some stiff muscles in my abdomen. I returned to work at my office on October 14, and I have gone walking for an hour every morning and every evening ever since.
The sensation of muscle stiffness disappeared on October 20. In conclusion I wish all the best to Dr. Löhde, and that many patients may have as good an experience with their hernia operations as I had!

Dr. Löhde answered my questions very quickly and in great detail. His attitude was very friendly and constructive. He agreed to operate on me. I wish all physicians had such a direct and constructive behaviour with their patients—unfortunately that's not always the case, but that is another problem.

We discovered Dr. Löhde by chance while surfing the Internet. He answered our mail promptly and we travelled to Berlin. Meoclinic and Dr. Löhde were the best choice we could have made!
